Jennifer + Jake

So, I’ve been waiting to blog these photos for a while now. My beautiful big sister got married in early March but I wanted to make sure she got to be the first to see her pictures. So now without further ado, here are a few of my favorites 🙂

Check back in a few days for a few more . . .

Funky Frills

I recently did a photoshoot with a friend of mine who is starting her own business called Funky Frills making fun hair accessories. Here’s a little sneak peek from that session. I’ll post again with a link to where you can buy these awesome flowers as soon as she gets her webpage up and running.

And if you were looking at that amazing eye makeup and wondering what fabulous makeup artist created it, that would be the work of the wonderful Candy & Chrome Makeup by Bettie of course!

Newborn Session

Here’s a few favorites from a recent newborn session I did with a friend and fellow photographer. This shoot was so much fun and she was the first newborn I’ve ever had who slept through the entire shoot.

Wedding Sneak Peek

I’ve been very bad and neglecting this blog for a whole year since I was posting a daily photo on a different blog. But I’m back and I’m going to do my best to keep this blog updated every week. So without further ado here is a wedding sneak peek. This couple was super fun and I had a blast sharing and documenting their special day!

Pin-up Portraits

I’ve been neglecting this blog a little bit in the past couple of months. Life has been busy with work and roller derby but I wanted to share something new that I’ve been working on lately. I organized my first Pin-up Portrait Party just before Valentine’s Day and it was an overwhelming success. Not only did it result in beautiful portraits but it was so much fun for all who participated. Since the girls have been showing off their portraits I’ve had so many people asking when the next one is so I’ve decided to make this a regular offering. Here are a few of my favorite images from the Portrait Party. Also be sure to check out Candy & Chrome – Make-up by Bettie. She created all of the beautiful looks for our portraits.

For more info check out my website and then get your friends together and book your Pin-up Party today!

New Year

I hope you are all enjoying your new year so far. I had a great time with visits from family and a new year’s celebration with the derby girls. My arm is still healing and I’m getting behind the camera more and more. I still have another month or so until I’m allowed back on skates so I’ve been spending my time on the sidelines with my camera in hand.  I love shooting roller derby. The girls involved have so much fun and work so hard at what they do.

I’ve made a new goal for myself this year as well. I’ve decided to focus more time on my photography and developing my creativity. I’ve started another blog in order to share the results with everyone. You can take a look at it here. I will be posting a new image there everyday so be sure to check back often. Don’t worry, I won’t be abandoning this blog. I’ll still post updates and images here. I just felt the need to have a separate place for these daily photos since they won’t necessarily be associated with client sessions or even portrait photography. The point of posting a photo everyday is to make myself constantly look at the everyday sights around me in a different way and explore the creative possibilities. I hope you will all check out the new blog and if you enjoy it pass it along to your friends. And now here are a few of images of my roller derby team at practice. Down Time

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a few weeks but I haven’t been able to type very well lately.  This is because three weeks ago I had an accidental collision with another skater and broke my right wrist. As a result I’ve been unable to do many things like write, type, walk the dogs, drive or even pick up my camera. The last one I miss more than anything. The good news is I’m healing as I should be – slow but steady and I can use my hand a little more each day. The first two weeks of having a cast that restricted my elbow was the worst. At times I thought my elbow was as sore as my wrist, but I’ve got a smaller cast now which means a little more movement and I don’t have to have it in a sling. Of course when I did have to wear the sling I decorated it to support my roller derby team. I may not be able to skate but I’m still there cheering them on. Well, I’ve rambled on long enough. Don’t worry too much about me, my wonderful husband has been taking good care of me and even cooked Thanksgiving dinner. I hope all of you enjoyed your Thanksgivings as well. Check back soon for updates. I’ll get my hands back on my camera as soon as I can!

Naomi & Jim’s Wedding

As promised here are some pictures from Naomi and Jim’s wedding. After our great vacation in Europe we stopped in Michigan for a few days to attend my sister-in-law’s wedding and visit family before heading home to California. The wedding was beautiful and we had so much fun getting to spend time with everyone.

London

We’re home from our trip and finally settled back in. Bags are unpacked, laundry is done and now it’s time to get back to work. Before we do that I wanted to share with you a few pictures my husband took of London at night. I think the city is so beautiful at night with all of the lights.
